put my thoughts into words.
Additional Information
(
)
He's
sort
chap who loves
make entrances
exits. He'll arrive ten minutes before everybody else
he'll leave ten minutes before everybody else. He'll come dashing
with
bunch
flowers, screaming hellos. He likes
be noticed. He loves telling jokes. He's
well-informed chap
keeps up
date with all
current affairs. He likes
talk
give
view
life .
He's very successful. When he sets himself
goal, he works hard
attain that and
achieve it. He knows what he wants
he'll set out
get it. As
result, he's successful. When you're talking
Roger, sometimes you're left way, way behind. His mind
whizzing over so fast that you're talking about something,
he's off at
tangent, talking about something completely different. He can't sit down. He's not. He can't relax. He's always jumping up
doing things
finds
hard
concentrate at times.
(2)
She gazes at.herself
wonder. Vanished are her healthy pink cheeks, her slightly red winter nose, her mole, her little freckles
blemishes; she
smooth, new made. She dabs
little powder
top,
stands back
admire
effect. It
pleasing, she decides. She wonders what
will look like by midnight. Will she be transformed imo an uneven, red-faced, patchy, blotchy clown? An ugly sister?
(3)
When she was twenty-three years old, she met, at
Christmas party,
young man from
Erewash Valley. Morel was then twenty-seven years old. He was well set-up, erect,
very smart. He had wavy black hair that shone again, and
vigorous black beard that had never been shaved. His cheeks were ruddy, and
red, moist mouth was noticeable because he laughed so often
so heartily.
He had that rare thing,
rich, ringing laugh. Gertrude Coppard had watched him, fascinated. He was so full
colour
animation,
voice ran so easily into comic grotesque, he was so ready
so pleasant with everybody. Her own father had
rich fund
humour,but
was satiric. This man's was different: soft, non-intellectual, warm,
kind
gambolling.
She herself was opposite. She had
curious, receptive mind which' found much pleasure
amusement
listening
other folk. She was clever
leading folk
talk. She loved ideas,
was considered very intellectual. What she liked most
all was an argument
religion or philosophy or politics with some educated man. This she did not often enjoy. So she always had people tell her about themselves, finding her pleasure so.
In her person she was rather small
delicate, with
large brow,
dropping bunches
brown silk curls. Her blue eyes were very straight, honest, and searching. She had
beautiful hands
the Coppards. Her dress was always subdued. She wore dark blue silk, with
peculiar silver chain
silver scallops. This, and
heavy brooch
twisted gold, was her only ornament. She was still perfectly intact, deeply religious,
full
beautiful candour.
